Pocketfuls of Sunshine

Strike a pose. There’s nothing to it.

Vogue.

Ok, so it isn’t Vogue. It’s better. It’s Variety!

The Bean has been asked to be the “covergirl” for the charity that helps with her myolectric prosthesis. Today is the photo session where they will take pictures of her using her arm at her weekly therapy sessions. The Variety Myoelectric Center will be putting her on the cover of a tri-fold brochure to help raise awareness of the comprehensive program that was designed to inform, support, and literally lend a hand to children like Beanie.

We are so excited for two reasons. First, we are thrilled that she is considered such a success story that she can be the “poster child” for the organization. And secondly, even though she doesn’t understand it yet, I look forward to the day that I can tell her that she was able to personally help in giving back to the charity that is making her progress possible. It is a win-win for everyone.

So wish us luck as we strike a pose today. We hope to capture some inspiring moments that will prompt people to reach into their pockets and pitch some coins (or big fat dollar bills preferably) into Variety’s bucket.

Now if only I knew what she was going to wear! Off to the closet!

Congrats! I assume you’ll get an armload of brochures to distribute to everyone you know? (Hint, hint)

Hooray! Can’t wait to see the shots. What a great opportunity.
